12th Annual Cross-Country Ski Trip to Highlands Nordic

Regrettably we had to cancel our trip with Grand Valley Trails Association and the Waterloo Nordic Sports Club to the Highlands Nordic Cross-Country Ski resort, due to lack of snow! (www.highlandsnordic.on.ca).

Highlands is a great family destination, with 24 km of impeccably groomed trails (when the weather cooperates) for classic and skate skiing. Novice to expert skiers will find a trail to match their abilities.

There was 22 km of groomed ski trails that accommodated both classic and skate techniques.

February 2, 2013 A day of cross-country skiing, fun and camaraderie by the Grand Valley Trails Association and the Waterloo Region Nordic Sports Club. We travelled in a relaxed and comfortable highway coach (no yellow school bus!) to Highlands Nordic Cross-Country Ski Resort, 10 km south of Collingwood where 22 km of groomed ski trails accommodate both classic and skate techniques. Regardless of your experience, Highland Nordic had a selection of trails that will match all of our abilities. Ski rentals were available at the pro-shop. Highlands Nordic also had a full service cafeteria that included a heartwarming chili menu. It also had full waxing facilities and change rooms.
